Soy candle burning instructions - how to enjoy it every day?
Have you just become the owner of a unique soy candle from Candle by Ann? Find out what to do to be completely satisfied with your purchase and to make our candles a delightful daily ritual! Here are a few instructions:
🕯️ First burn – the most important step
The first burn of a candle is crucial for its subsequent use. Leave the candle burning until the entire surface of the wax melts and a uniform, liquid layer forms – this usually takes 2 to 4 hours. This will prevent tunneling, which is when the wax melts only around the wick, and the sides remain untouched.
✂️ Trim the wick before each use
Before each lighting, trim the wick to about 5 mm. A wick that is too long will cause smoking, sooting, and uneven burning. You can use special wick trimmers or regular scissors – the important thing is to do it regularly.
⏱️ Don't burn for too long
We recommend burning the candle for a maximum of 4 hours at a time. After this time, extinguish the candle, let it cool completely, trim the wick, and you can light it again. This will make your candle last much longer.
🚫 Avoid drafts
Place the candle away from windows, fans, and air conditioning. Drafts cause uneven wax melting, wick sooting, and shorten the candle's lifespan. It burns best in a calm, enclosed room.
🧤 Keep the wax clean
Ensure that matches, wick remnants, or other impurities do not fall into the container. Clean wax means even burning and a longer candle life.
🛑 When to stop using the candle?
When about 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom of the container, it's time to stop using it. Burning the candle to the very end can overheat the container and damage the surface it sits on.
If you have a pillar candle (without a container), pay special attention to where you place it. Melted wax can freely flow onto a countertop, tablecloth, or furniture – always use a holder or candlestick appropriate for the candle's size. Avoid placing pillar candles on surfaces that could be damaged by heat or wax. Remember never to leave a burning candle unattended! 🔥
♻️ Second life for the jar
Some candles come in beautiful containers that you can reuse! After the candle is used up, clean the jar with warm water and use it as a candlestick, a container for small items, or as decoration. This is our small nod to the environment 🌿
We hope these tips help you fully enjoy your Candle by Ann candle. Remember – each lighting is a moment just for you. You deserve it every day! 🤍
